Grateful For Thanksgiving

So dear friends, I changed my tune and went to my brother’s house.  After my kids left for their dad’s house reluctantly, I relaxed for a bit and watched Gone With The Wind.  It’s one of my favorite movies of all time!  Then I got dressed after awhile and drove up to my brother’s house.  And it went well.

I mean, it was hard to be alone with his family and without my kids.  But I felt the need to be with family and I’m glad that I went.  I made sure I put a time limit on it so that I could escape (and I did after 4 hours which was quite enough!) because my kids are coming home to me after spending time with their dad’s family.  I am waiting for them now, cuddled on the couch and now I’m watching The Wizard of Oz.

I hope that all of you had a good Thanksgiving (if you are celebrating today) and if not, then I hope that you had a lovely Thursday.  I’m thankful for all of my blogging friends here and I appreciate all of your help, your support and your kindness towards me.

My next holiday alone will be Christmas Eve.  If you’re alone on the holidays, it’s not as bad as we think it’s going to be when we get in the right mindset.  You can do this…

I have older kids, both married, and I spent the day with friends. It was nice, but I would have rather been with family. One of them invited me for next year, which makes me happy.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
