Draft To Publish

How in the world did we get to November? I don’t know where the time has gone and I know I’ve been pretty absent from blogging. I just haven’t felt like writing and when I did, it stayed in my drafts. That happens a lot to me. Does it happen to you?

What stays in drafts are all the times I felt like writing because you’re all so kind to me and I needed a friend so I wrote about what was going on. Then once I’d purged how I felt, processed it, I felt like I didn’t want to put that event out there to clutter up your Reader. So I just never pressed publish and there those posts sit. And there’s a lot of them…

Do you have drafts that you wrote, but now don’t want to publish? What do you do with them? Do you delete them or just keep them in drafts in case something else comes along that piggybacks on the subject? Because that’s what I do…

P.S. Happy Saturday!!

I went through a few months of writers/blogging blocks. I haven’t even begun to write a new song. I don’t have any drafts. If they don’t go into publish status within a week, I trash them.

Well, I hope that your inspiration returns for song writing and blogging posts! I always think I may be able to use the draft in a different way so that’s why I don’t trash them. Good for you for trashing the drafts! πŸ™‚

I usually keep my drafts as a memento of where I was at at that time… sometimes I re-work them… or take out a chunk… but often just trash them too in a once-a-year purge.

No drafts. Ever. Unless I’m having some sort of computer problem as I’m writing, or I upload a batch of photos the cheating way. If I write, I publish.

I mostly post if I start.
I think about doing that, but have recently been quiet.

I have a huge grin on my face after reading your last line…life with a puppy which conjures up all sorts of giggles, smiles and good feelings so thank you for that Anne! Give that puppy a hug for me (and of course, one for you too!)

When I have alot on my mind I will write a post to vent, I always feel better letting it all out. But then the next day I read it over, change me mind and not post it. It sits in the draft folder until I eventually delete it.

I do exactly that, but I don’t always delete the draft because it’s almost like a reminder of what’s transpired and sometimes I use bits of drafts to inspire me. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment! πŸ™‚

I ususally don’t leave things in draft mode, because knowing my silly self, I’ll accidentally publish it πŸ˜‰ I have started a few that I ended up trashing because they were a little too “raw”. (Although there are one or two that I let go anyway! πŸ˜‰ ) I haven’t done as much posting or reading of late because life has been a bit too crazy busy with the girls’ activities. Sometimes I think I need to be careful what I wish for…haha! I, for one, always enjoy your posts, and sometimes seeing that someone else is in the same boat that we are is comforting. I think it’s ok to publish what you’ve been processing πŸ™‚ Have a wonderful week, Janie! πŸ™‚

Beth, thank you! I hope that your busy time stays fun. I appreciate your support and your answer about drafts! I like when people write from the heart because many times I connect with what they’re experiencing! I hope all is well with you!! Enjoy your week (although it’s almost the weekend!) WaHOO!

Amen to that! πŸ˜… I love my weekends all the more with all the taxiing during the week πŸ˜…. The girls have school off today, so I am grateful for a one day reprieve. Hope your upcoming weekend is wonderful, Janie! ❀
