Feeling Whimsical

I am not sad. I am not mad. I am only a wee bit disappointed. But you see that’s only part of it because I can look at the other side and know I’m free. Lately there seems to be lots of couples photos on social media and usually I just smile and scroll. However, today seemed different. I stopped and felt that tug of “I would like that” and “Wouldn’t that be nice to feel…”

So I’m calling it feeling whimsical.

Whimsical by definition: playfully quaint or fanciful, especially in an appealing and amusing way

Do you see how it fits for me?

I’m a big believer in putting it out there to the Universe when I want something, even when I feel it might be out of my comfort zone. So I’m declaring that I’d like to find someone who piques my interest and vice versa. Now I’m thinking of that song, Santa Baby

Did you start singing it too? LOL

Did you know there are a few different versions of the song?

Eartha Kitts did the original which you can see here: https://youtu.be/ppYGHqxwCuk

There’s a guy’s version sung by Michael Buble https://youtu.be/JnOLam2AwXY

I know it may seem a bit early, but I may start singing to Santa before long. How about you? Have you started writing up your Christmas List too?

I couldn’t agree more with “putting it out to the universe.” I know that you are ok being alone too, as I was, so it’s all about “wanting”, not “needing” πŸ™‚ It was only 10 days after my blog post saying “Alone is not the worst thing to be” when I made a list of what I would want in a partner (https://picturingpositive.com/2021/08/04/alone-is-not-the-worst-thing-to-be/) that I went on my first date with Ted and now I can check off everything on my list πŸ˜‰ I still think there was some divine intervention. I like to think that my mom and his mom met up there in heaven and did a little bit of matchmaking πŸ˜‰ Sending all my positive wishes for a special someone to “come out of nowhere and into your life” as Michael BublΓ© so wonderfully sings πŸ™‚ ❀ πŸ™‚

I had to go back and read your post! I LOVE that he ticks off all of the boxes for you and feels divinely sent! I’m inspired by you and may have to sit down and write my own list to see what happens. But in the meantime, I’m thrilled for you and wish you all the best!!! Huge hugs Beth!!πŸ™‚ ❀ πŸ™‚

Thank you so much, Janie! 😊 I do feel super lucky to have him. It is really funny how it was basically after I had decided I was fine being alone and that I would just do one last match before the girls arrived that it just happened to all click and fall in place. 😊❀😊 Sending all my positive thoughts that I will hear your similar story very soon. πŸ˜ƒ

Thank you so much Beth! I am feeling centered and happy to enjoy the holidays with my kids and family and friends. I don’t need anything. And I’ll let love find its way to me. I keep laughing because my friends and I have been staying “Keep the open sign on” meaning open to possibilities! πŸ™‚ Enjoy this holiday with him!! Big hugs happy hugs to you!!

I’m going to be beyond sick of hearing Santa Baby by Christmas as it is one of the songs my daughter dances to for her Christmas program at dance. They do the Cindy Lauper version. It’s a big deal tradition at the studio that the high school girls get to do. It is fun and cute, but there are only so many times I need to hear it! lol! I’m all for clearly stating your wishes and desires to the universe. I hope Santa brings you want you wish for this year!

Thank you TJ! I hope Santa Baby brings you all that you wish for as well! Enjoy watching your daughter’s dance! How fun! But I can see how listening to it on repeat can get tiresome! LOL Big smile

Xmas seems to start so early, especially for retail and radio, and it’s getting earlier and earlier every year. The one country station I can get on the car radio even started playing it pretty early this year, along with most of the few other stations I program for the car.

I’m sure it’s no surprise that I’m still old school but I was finally able to punch a button and not hear Xmas music but still music I like. It was the oldies station!

Now I’m not saying that I don’t like Xmas music at all. I’m just saying that even different renditions of the same song is not enough variety for me!
